Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Frisbee the Dog needs a home

Welcome Frisbee FKA Mickey, he was found in a big city by a Good Samaritan, already emaciated and hobbling around with a bad break to his left hind leg. He was brought to the local high kill shelter and ended up one lucky dog as PMAR came to the rescue - quite literally - and hurried him off to their veterinarian. A bit more than a week later, this little nugget had major surgery where plates and screws were installed to patch his bad break back together and he is making big strides. Bad pun intended! He’s got a large incision - the vet put in internal stitches and glued the exterior so while he doesn’t have that unsightly zipper, it’s still a massive incision. He’s already gained some much needed weight - though with such a serious injury and repair, long term he’ll be best served to stay slim and trim so that his repaired leg doesn’t carry around extra weight as he ages. Our little guy is just around a year and a half and is just at the beginning of several weeks of crate rest. So far we’ve raised a good portion of the funds needed to cover Mickeys vet bill - which covered his neuter in addition to his leg but we’re still about $1000 short. While he’s safe and has had the work done, this unpaid portion means we have to hold off on helping others until we pay off this bill. If you’re interested in contributing, you can go to our website www.pmarinc.org and click on donate, www.paypal.com and send funds to [email protected] or click the donate button on our Facebook page. If you’d like to send Mickey a treat, we’ve compiled a thoughtful list of items that will help this young fella stay entertained during his long rehabilitation. You can click here to access his wishlist on Amazon - https://smile.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/YF61PPLFC0Y3?&sort=default Please see comments below for a picture of this little man’s sweet, sweet face. We thank you for all of your support - without your help, this little peanut would have been euthanized. A fate we just can’t imagine every time we look at his innocent, trusting face. *Mickeys foster Dad has renamed him Frisbee. Fearing his shelter name ‘Mickey’ was a not-so-funny reference to Mickey Mouse (note this little guy has had his ears cut off with scissors - so he does NOT have Mickey Mouse like ears..) he’s moving on from everything representing his time in the shelter. Welcome to your new, fantastic, pain free life, Frisbee! To adopt, fill out the application at www.pmarinc.org. He’ll be ready right around the holidays.

All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary. Vet references are required and prior to adoption a home inspection will be conducted. Transport options available. Adoption fee applies.

If interested go to www.pmarinc.org for an application.
